Fire Watch Requirements & AHJ Coordination
PSquare's Remote Fire Watch solution is accepted for applicable uses in Vancouver and Surrey. For other BC municipalities, PSquare seeks project-specific acceptance through its engineering and fire-safety team as part of the service.
Approved in Vancouver & Surrey
PSquare's Remote Fire Watch solution is accepted for applicable uses in the City of Vancouver and the City of Surrey. These approvals reflect PSquare's engineering and fire-safety approach to remote fire watch — including the preparation of project-specific Fire Safety Plans and coordination with the applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Other BC Municipalities
For projects in other British Columbia municipalities, PSquare seeks project-specific acceptance from the applicable municipality, fire department or Authority Having Jurisdiction through its engineering and fire-safety team. This process is included as part of the Remote Fire Watch service — clients do not need to retain a separate consultant for this work.
What PSquare's Engineering & Fire-Safety Team Provides
Project-Specific Fire Safety Plan
Where required, PSquare prepares a project-specific Fire Safety Plan as part of the Remote Fire Watch service. The Fire Safety Plan documents the monitoring strategy, detection coverage, alarm measures and response protocol for the specific project and site conditions.
Important
Acceptance of remote fire watch in Vancouver and Surrey does not automatically apply to other municipalities. Each project in a different jurisdiction requires its own assessment and, where applicable, project-specific acceptance from the applicable AHJ. PSquare handles this process as part of the service.
